Pre-arranged 3-day safaris to Epupa Falls on the Kunene River and Himba villages, are organised on request during your safari in Namibia (minimum 4 nights at Kavita Lion Lodge and prior reservation necessary).
Day excursions to Himba kraals west of Opuwa and western Etosha, as well as pre-arranged overnight trips to Epupa Falls on the Kunene River, are organised on request. Open vehicle game drives will allow you to view a variety of game such as Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Giraffe and the Black faced Impala. Enjoy the good birding and guided bush walks, and explore the customs and age-old traditions of the Himba people on a guided trail to the Ohorongo Village.
THE AFRI-LEO Foundation is a registered, Namibian-based, non-profit organisation, dedicated to the conservation and protection of the wild lion in Namibia (Panthera leo). The programme includes a short visit to the Environmental Education Centre, where guests are introduced to the works of the AFRI-LEO Foundation.
You get insight into the farmer-predator conflict issues along the boundary of the Etosha National Park, the research and monitoring programmes and an over-view of the Lion Sanctuary, where 5 lion rescued from Namibia’s last zoo now have their home. The afternoon activity is approximately 2 – 3 hrs in length, including Lion viewing is from the safety of a hide, and returning to the Lodge shortly before dark during your safari in Namibia.
