This Namibia safari lodge is a permanent tented camp in the foothills of the Grootberg, below the north-western escarpment of Damaraland, Namibia. Etendeka Mountain Camp offers a pristine wilderness experience ideal for seekers of peace, solitude, wide open spaces and vast panoramas of Damaraland. With a maximum of 16 guests, each guest is assured personal attention in a relaxed and homely atmosphere.
This tented camp in Namibia is owned and run by Dennis Liebenberg -a keen conservationist and outdoor person. He has nine years' experience in tourism, mostly overland safaris in Namibia. His concern is to provide a safe, comfortable and enjoyable stay to guests with as little impact on the environment as possible. His wife, Barbara, is a biologist with a particular interest in desert invertebrates.
With three years of research in the central Namib Desert and six years of field collecting for the State Museum of Namibia, she has a wide knowledge of the country and its ecology. She also has a talent for preparing delicious meals in the kitchen of Etendeka Mountain Camp on the open fire. Local guides, with a knowledge of the indigenous fauna and flora of Damaraland in Namibia gained from living close to nature, assist with guided walks and drives.
